This is the village of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, a municipality of Cote d’Azur in France.  It is

located between Monaco and Menton, east of Nice.  The old village has narrow streets, mostly a one-

person-wide walkways.  This photo was taken on top of the Chateau de Roquebrune which gives a great

view of the village.  The bell tower of Sainte-Marguerite, the holy temple of Roquebrune, forms a

remarkable part of the view.  In the evening you can watch the sun setting over Monaco.

  1. Yummy! Thanks for this great shot! These villages are maybe my very favorite places in the world!

    • Thanks for visiting my blog heartflow2012…i agree, there is somethign magical about these villages…i love the narrow alleys and pathways and the houses layered by the side of the hill….if you see it from the top they are like hobbit houses except too many of them all squeezed in one area 🙂 Happy New Year and more travels to you this 2013!
